If you agree to spend your time to correct these file names and then to share them with us, i will send you links.
Probably somebody other already have the corrected folders?

It means the downloaded files should be re-named by page numbers (from the above full name), and this takes time (for ten thousands files)...

Those file names were generated by ScienceDirect website randomly. And the pdfs were scanned from printed journals. It's really hard to find a way to rename those files automatically. I have tried several pdf tools but all failed. It is much easier to deal with the new pdf files which can be combined and split with specified names.

It seems viable! How did you do that? I originally thought I could write a script for screening the ScienceDirect to get the page numbers corresponding to the original links, and then re-name the full-named pdfs by these, but it should just be applicable to the years after 1995.

Now, your file is amazing.

The filenames

were changed probably after dvd-rewriting and look now so

1987&_sk=999719998&view=c&wchp=dGLbVlz-zSkWA&_acct=C00000865...(1), (2) etc.pdf

The file name after md5= is critical. If they were missing, it's hard to rename them.

I think the mistake should be owing to the usage. Try to execute the bat in the same folder of 1987.

I found it is the same of the name, "1987&_sk=999719998&view=c&wchp=dGLbVlz-zSkWA&_acct=C000008658&_version=1&_userid=1001915&md5=32567e2570d85d1409257fa1d266ba1a&ie=f.pdf", between both of yours. So, it should be viable.
