I received this e-mail from someone I know in the Danishefsky group at
Columbia. They've been preparing concise literature reviews from specific
years of JACS and making them available to the public. Feel free to check
them out and learn.

Dear Friends,
I am writing to you all to ask for your help in spreading the word about our
recently organized group at the Columbia University Chemistry Department.
Our purpose is to work together (across research groups) to afford better
overall exposure to the organic literature, and we have begun to work toward
this goal first by preparing so-called "Years In Review of Synthesis"
presentations for the JACS 1970-2000. Since June 2006, we have met weekly
to give these presentations, and our presentations to date are available at
our newly created website (also available through links on the CU chemistry
homepage).

We will be continually updating and posting new handouts to the website, and
we would like to make these known and available to the broader community.
You are on this list because I believe you each have a different subgroup of
friends/family in chemistry at home or abroad; so, I hope you will take a
minute to visit our site, and to FORWARD this message with a word of support
to your peers in the organic chemistry community.
Lastly, if you have suggestions about future topics (biography, book
reviews, etc.) and/or website improvements (links, format, message board,
etc.) please write back and let me know!
Thanks in advance, and be in touch!
Sincerely,
BJ Wright '08
